Quarter-section lines normally register closely to the tax lot base. Section lines were digitized to the taxlot base in 1992. Quarter-section lines divide the sections into mathematically calculated equal quarters. Care should be taken when using the quarter-section lines with the current tax lot layer, particularly in North Portland, west of 42nd Avenue, where tax lot ground control has been improved.
